Spearmint

The Eastern cuisines add it to meatballs, salads, flavored drinks, pastry making and many other dishes in order to give freshness to the foods and the flavor of mint. Spearmint and mint are two different species, but very similar. Mint has a much more intense taste and brighter color, while spearmint has a more delicate and fine flavor.

vSpearmint and mint can replace each other in both sweet and savory recipes. Its pairs well with everything, from savory dishes with grilled meats and rich sauces to lighter dishes, such as vegetarian foods, tzatziki, drinks, smoothies, tea and sweets.

Spearmint, besides being an aromatic herb, it was initially used as a medicinal herb for the treatment of the stomach ache and chest pain, usually added to tea in order to treat and relieve the stomach ache.

There are two types of mint that we use in cooking: the spearmint and the mint. Mint has a much more intense taste and a brighter color, while spearmint has a more delicate and fine flavor. They grow everywhere and in many climates, and this explains why this herb is used in so many cuisines around the world.
